Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds which is widely used in many cuisines especially in the Middle East and Maghreb and in all the Mediterranean, where it is the staple of many sweet as well as savoury recipes. The most well known way to use tahini is when making Hummus, the mashed chickpeas spread, or Baba Ghanoush, an incredible roasted eggplant dip. But why not trying it on toast together with a teaspoon of honey for breakfast? And to use it a a spread on crostini, just add some lemon juice, garlic and salt and, if you like it, a bit of freshly ground black pepper.
